Dension have improved the operations for the new Gateway lite, which allows the users to browse simply through tracks and albums rather than the complex menu system that dictates the usability of the Dension gateway 100, which is primarily designed for vehicles that displays text on the stereo or cluster matrix on the dashboard.

On the Gateway Lite, the music tracks are navigated via the steering wheel controls and/or the CD changer buttons on the front of the stereo. CD changer button 6 selects the source and 1-5 selects the playlist or albums loaded on the USB. The usual buttons allow you to flip forward and backwards though the tracks when an album is selected. The iPod can be controlled from the click wheel and operations are as normal, however the buttons on the steering wheel or stereo will cycle through the tracks.

The Dension Gateway Lite still offers all of the benefits of the Gateway 100 and 300, It charges your iPod when connected (If you want iPod connectivity the Dock Cable or Active Cradle Must be Purchased separately) and also offers USB connectivity as satandard, this allows up to 8Gb of extra music to load into the system for your musical pleasure.

To avoid the need for complex menu structures Dension have made the Lite more simple, When the iPod and USB are connected the Lite will play the music from the last connected device. So connect you iPod and press CD 6 your iPod will play. The Lite still connects into the CD changer port and provides Digital a connection through your vehicles entertainment system offering exceptional audio quality.

The Dension Gateway Lite is provided with a USB extension as standard so you can route and keep your USB device in your glove box and have it ready and waiting for when you enter your car, you don't even need to purchase the Dock Cable or Active Cradle as they are only used for iPod connectivity.

Vehicle Compatibility

Audi and VW vehicles may have stereos installed outside of the suggested year above, It's been known that Chorus & Concert I and II stereos have been installed in vehicles up to 2009. If this is the case please select the correct stereo installed in your vehicle in the drop down menu above when ordering.

Your Vehicle Should match all of the following options for the kit to be compatible, E.G. Audi A2, 2000 with Chorus II stereo would need the part number GWL1AU2.

If you vehicle is compatible simply select the correct options in the drop down menu and you will be sent the correct kit for your vehicle.

The Kit Installs into the CD Changer port on the back of the stereo, Simply remove the stereo and vehicle harness (Remember any Pin codes where necessary) Connect the Dension Harness to the Stereo, connect the same harness to the Gateway lite and re connect the Vehicle harness. Route the USB extension cable & iPod Cable where necessary.

Installing your Dension Gateway Lite iPod Car Kit is straightforward and is slightly different depending on the car kit you have ordered for you particular vehicle. The Dension Gateway Lite connects into the CD Changer port at the back of the stereo. If you already have a CD Changer Installed you will lose the CD changer option by using the Gateway Lite.

Please ensure the ignition is turned off before you start.

1. The first step is to remove your stereo, this process will vary depending on your vehicle and will often require the use of Radio Removal Tools. In the Case of BMW Vehicles an Allen Key is required

    

2. Remove the Vehicle Harness from the Stereo (Remembering any radio codes)

3. Connect the Dension Harness to the PCB (Little Black Dension Box) and then to the stereo.

    

4. Connect the Dension USB Extension cable and Dock Cable or Active Cradle (If appropriate) to the PCB

    

5. Connect the Dension Harness to the Vehicle Harness and turn the ignition on.

    

6. Attach an iPod or USB device into the system to check the kit is working. (Follow the user manual to operate)

    

7. Fit the stereo back into position

• On some occasions the vehicle harness will not match the Dension harness, if this is the case the Dension harness will simply connect into the CD Changer port on the back of the stereo, you may not need to remove the vehicle harness to connect the Dension Gateway Lite.

• If there is a spare black wire in the Dension Harness it needs to be earthed to a good Ground point, Usually the Radio cage or a screw at the back of the stereo will be sufficient
