Is the Dension iPod Car Kit futureproof?
A question we get asked many times by customers is “if i buy an iPod Car Kit from iPod Car Kit Direct and i change my iPod or car in the near future, will it cost me money to upgrade.”
iPod Upgrade:
In simple terms the Dension iPod Car kits and Dension Gateway products have the ability to be upgraded in seconds by simply connecting your iPod to your PC then downloading any updates from the Dension Support website this ensures that your iPod is fully up to date.
Then when you subsequently connect your iPod to your iPod Car Kit or Gateway the updates are transferred automatically to your Dension Car Kit keeping it right up to date.
Change of car upgrade:
Another scenario is, lets say you have a VW Golf and you sell this and take your iPod Car Kit with you. You then buy an Audi A4, (again just as an example) and you can install your existing iPod Car Kit and all you’ll need is a Replacement Harness lead specific to your new car and radio fitted.

iPod car kits for aftermarket radios
An iPod is a portable, audio, digital MP3 players marketed by Apple computers. They can be used as an external storage device when connected to a computer. It has a simple user-friendly interface and stores data on a built-in hard drive. A new range of ipod car connect adapters install iPod or MP3 players into vehicles with aftermarket car radios. MP3 adapter leads are also available using aftermarket car radios with CD changer port. It is possible to connect the iPod MP3 player to the aftermarket radio (Kenwood, Sony) with the new ice>Link Plus car installation kit. This kit is available for all car models. The ice>Link Plus plays high quality music from the iPod through the existing aftermarket radio’s CD changer port. This does away with the need for cassette adapters and bulky FM transmitters. It provides access to 10,000 MP3s at the touch of a button.
