The Gateway 100 is no exception, with additional features that the previous version of the kit (Ice>link plus) didn’t have, such as gateway addon’s in the form of Bluetooth adapters and CD Retention Kits. The Gateway 100 iPod car kit isn’t only a car kit, but a car multimedia centre.
Gateway Operation is simple; when connected to the factory fitted radio the Gateway emulates a CD Changer (as far as the radio is concerned) the gateway PCB then translates the iPod Data to a compatible signal that radio is capable of reading, meaning you get full control of your iPod and music while your iPod is being charged when connected.
The Gateway 100 can be controlled in two ways
Dension User Interface – navigate via the radio’s CD Changer buttons and steering wheel controls (where applicable) with this method you can cycle through playlists and select your favourite tracks at the touch of a button, and without even removing you fingers from the steering wheel in most cars. The Dension Gateway 100 automatically maps the first five playlists on your iPod to the 1-5 CD Changer buttons on your stereo, although the iPod is disabled in this menu the iPod will display the ID3 tagging on the iPod screen (and also displayed on compatible radio’s text screens)
iPod User Interface - the Gateway allows you to control your music from your iPod, retaining all the features and functions you would usually use to control it, this method is much more in depth as you can cycle through playlists, artists, albums and songs individually. However this method is meant for passengers and not recommenced if you are driving
Easy to use Interface – the simple interface is the greatest feature of the Gateway 100, allowing you to access your music via different modes such as Scan, Repeat and Shuffle. You can also access your playlist browser already on your iPod, allowing you to navigate through all of your playlists and enhancing you listening experience
Gateway Applications -You can select from a choice of Active cradle and Dock cable for the perfect integration into your car. This allows you to decide how to fully utilise the gateway and suit it to your needs. Both Kits connect via the standard Apple iPod connection and provide the charging facilities.
The Active cradle is meant to be mounted to the dashboard; it’s supplied with vent clips that allow you to attach the Cradle to any vents on the dash so the iPod clearly and proudly displayed in your car. However for a more secure fit we recommend a no damage dashclip which connects into your car dashboard so the active cradle can be drilled and fastened much more securely.
The Dock cable is designed to be concealed and discrete; it’s supplied with iPod clips that hold the iPod in place if installed in a more private position such as the glove box or centre console. The Dock Cable is the obvious choice if you wish to use the iPod interface mode

Future iPod Ready; Dension have upgraded the Gateway 100 to allow the charging of the new 5v iPods (iPhone and Nano 3rd Gen) and possibly all future iPods. The older 9v iPod are also charged whilst plugged into the Gateway system.
Mounting the Active Cradle;The Active Cradle mounts using the supplied screws, however it is recommended that an (optional) Damage-Free Mounting bracket is used ensuring an integrated, discreet and professional install
