It works by modulating your iPod songs into radio signals that can be played by any FM stereo, but as the kit connects to the stereo via a hard wire connection, the audio playback does not suffer from any interference or static.

As the kit uses FM and NOT the CD changer (CDC) connection it means that it will connect to any stereo that receives FM, providing that there is a compatible aerial converter available, required only if no standard connection is present e.g. Nissan and Volvo. This makes the kit almost completely universal, allowing it to fit to 99% of vehicles on the road today.

The kit is set to send the signal to the radio on one of 8 pre-set frequencies, that can be either changed from the device module or via the active cradle, which is included in the box. Any iPodCarKitDirect customer is entitled to join the scheme providing the following is met;
