Dension's new and improved iPod adapter for Volkswagons without text capable displays. The Dension Gateway Lite offers simple and effective control over the iPod making the most of the available functions when there is no CAN Bus system fitted to the vehicle.

The GWL1VW1 and GWL1VW8 are designed to work with Volkswagon factory Stereos, the kits plug into the exsisting wiring looms on the back of the radio unit. The GWL1VW8 version fits to the ISO plug found on stereos Pre 2005 with the GWL1VW1 fits stereos with the new quadlock.

We have found that it important for a lot of our customers that the kit charges the iPod whilst connected. As the Gateway Lite supplies a 5V USB charge it will charge any iPod that is connecting, including the iPhone 4.

Any iPodCarKitDirect customer is entitled to join the scheme providing the following is met;

Question:

"Does this kit display iPod information on the vehicles radio?"

Answer:

No, Gateway Lite is none text, if you wish to have text on the vehicle you require the Gateway 100. Please note however, you will need the Highline MFD cluster and steering wheel controls to have text displayed, if you do not have those then the Gateway Lite kit is the best next thing.

Question:

"I have watched your demo video, it shows a Gateway Lite along side a bluetooth kit in a Renault. Am I able to have a similar set up in my Golf?"

Answer:

The Setup Demonstrated in the video is available for almost all Volkswagons. The Gateway Lite connects via the CDC port and the Bluetooth kit connects via the speaker harness so both work alongside each other. Please feel free to call us if you wish more information.
